Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment where participants can build independence through learning new life and daily living skills increasing confidence as they transition from one life stage to the next.
Additionally to develop lasting friendships and connections with those who share these experiences, that continue well beyond their stay at Island Respite.

Island Respite is led by Michael Green, a Tasmanian raised in the Launceston region, with over 10 years’ experience as a disability support worker and five years as a disability service provider. Island Respite utilises rural based & beachside locations in the local areas of Launceston. One set in a scenic and tranquil setting in the bush. The other at a local seaside community.
We provide a relaxed and peaceful environment for Participants to have down time in a homely setting and enjoy their surroundings with nature based activities utilising the bush, the rivers, and the beach.
